King Senasammata Vikramabahu

Senasammata Vikramabahu is traditionally considered the founding monarch of the Kandyan kingdom, ruling for 42 years from the highland fortress. He established secure irrigation and Buddhist institutions away from coastal turmoil, inaugurating a lineage that would preserve Sinhalese sovereignty for three more centuries.
